Synopsis
Life Eternal (Das ewige Leben, 2015) is an Austrian crime thriller with a dark comic streak, available to watch online on iFILM. Former cop Brenner heads back to Graz, the city where he grew up — and gets shot in the head almost immediately.
He surfaces from a coma to find everyone insisting he pulled the trigger himself. Josef Hader plays Brenner with the dry, bone-tired precision the character demands; Tobias Moretti and Nora von Waldstätten round out the cast. Director Wolfgang Murnberger adapts the sixth of Wolf Haas' Brenner crime novels — an Austrian series long celebrated in the German-speaking world for mixing proper procedural plotting with a voice that refuses to take the genre at face value.
