Synopsis
Iris and the Men (Iris et les hommes, 2023) is a French comedy-drama directed by Caroline Vignal, available to watch online on iFILM. Iris has the full picture — a dentist's practice, a loyal husband, two daughters, a nice flat. What she doesn't have is any real intimacy, and she stopped counting how many years ago.
Laure Calamy plays Iris. A stranger's passing comment — "take a lover" — tips her onto a dating app and the response is instant and overwhelming. Young men, older men, hopeful men, useless men. Vignal is less interested in who Iris picks than in what the whole thing does to her: a woman in her late forties who discovers she still has options, and that this discovery is its own complication.
