Daaaaaalí!

Daaaaaalí! (2024) is a French absurdist comedy from director Quentin Dupieux — watch it online on iFILM. Anaïs Demoustier plays a young journalist assigned to interview Salvador Dalí for a documentary. Dalí agrees. They set a date. Then another. Then another.

The meetings keep falling apart in ways that range from mundane to completely inexplicable, and the artist himself is played by five different actors — Gilles Lellouche, Édouard Baer, Jonathan Cohen, Pio Marmai, and Romain Duris — swapping in and out across the film's 77 minutes without explanation or apology. Each version of Dalí operates by his own rules, which is either deeply in the spirit of the man or Dupieux's usual deadpan cruelty toward his characters, probably both.

Dupieux doesn't use surrealism for shock — he uses it to make something feel logically airtight while being completely unhinged. This is one of his tightest films and a good entry point if you haven't seen his work before. Stream Daaaaaalí! online on iFILM.
