Agüizotes (2027) is a Nicaraguan animated fantasy series you can watch online on iFILM, drawing on local folklore rather than the usual European myth kit. Something is attacking a New World coastal region, and the old gods have gone quiet.

When the silence drags on too long, a shaman wakes the Agüizotes, and from that moment four lives braid together: Nacü, Catalina, Yahuar and Güegüe. Together they build a resistance against a genuinely crowded roster of regional powers — the Clanics, the Ancestrals, assorted pagan gods, the Celestials, and other Agüizotes — plus tyrant rulers, guardian witches, goblin hordes, spectral guides and territorial wardens.

Betrayal and portal-hopping come with the territory, and some of the losses leave the four leads chewing on their own guilt rather than moving on clean. The big battles land wherever water turns hostile — floods, ice, storm surge, take your pick.
