Synopsis
The Hunger (1997–2000) is a horror anthology series you can watch online on iFILM, produced by Scott Free Productions — the company founded by Ridley and Tony Scott — for Showtime and the Sci Fi Channel. Terence Stamp introduced each episode in Season 1; David Bowie replaced him for Season 2.
No recurring characters, no ongoing arc. Each episode is a sealed story drawn from source material by Edgar Allan Poe, Robert Bloch and Brian Lumley, among others. The connecting thread is desire that curdles into catastrophe — vampirism, cannibalism, obsession with a body count. Tony Scott and Russell Mulcahy are among the directors who worked across the two seasons; Daniel Craig and Timothy Spall appear in individual episodes, both still early in their careers.
The show occupies a gap between art-house erotica and midnight horror, which explains why Showtime was the right home for it. Stream all episodes of The Hunger online on iFILM.
