Synopsis
Memorial Day (2011) is a war drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Sam Fischer. The story opens on Memorial Day, 1993. Thirteen-year-old Kyle Vogel discovers a World War II footlocker belonging to his grandfather Bud — a man who has never said a word about the war in fifty years.
Bud agrees to a deal: Kyle picks three keepsakes from the box, and Bud tells the story behind each one. James Cromwell plays the grandfather as someone who has done real work to stay quiet, and it shows in every scene. Jackson Bond plays Kyle. The film runs on two timelines, cutting between Bud's combat past and the war Kyle will eventually face himself. The parallel never needs to be stated; it just arrives.
