Synopsis
A Chump at Oxford (1940) is a Laurel and Hardy comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Stan and Ollie blunder into catching a bank robber and land themselves a place at Oxford as a reward. The academic establishment is less than thrilled.
The hazing from fellow students is relentless — until Stan takes a knock on the head and suddenly becomes the brilliant Lord Paddington, a legendary former student of the college who forgot entirely who he was. Ollie spends the second half trying to recognize his old pal in a man who now speaks in full sentences and carries himself with dignity. A young Peter Cushing appears in a supporting role; James Finlayson rounds out the cast. Director Alfred J. Goulding keeps the gags moving at a tight 62 minutes.
