Synopsis
"The Date" (Svidaniye, 2012) is a Russian romantic comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Yusup Bakhshiev. Successful surgeon Dmitry Gorin (Vladimir Kristovsky) agrees to a blind date with schoolteacher Ana Svetlova (Ekaterina Klimova), at his sister's insistence. The refined business dinner he had in mind ends the moment Ana starts drinking.
Things spiral quickly: a mountain of a man who is fixated on Ana starts chasing Dmitry across the city, the surgeon's job unravels, his motorcycle vanishes, and a jail cell starts looking likely. Alexei Panin and Grigory Siyatvinda pile on the mayhem. Somewhere inside all the slapstick, something genuine takes root — which is exactly how these things are supposed to go.
