Classmates Dana and Lyova are on a school trip to the city when they witness the theft of the famous Chizhik-Pyzhik — a small bronze bird on the Fontanka embankment that, by local legend, grants a wish if you flip a coin and land it on the pedestal without it hitting the water. Both kids have wishes they can't afford to lose: Lyova's parents are on the verge of divorce, and Dana is counting on a career as a blogger. With the statue gone, the two decide to track down the thieves themselves, dodging their teacher, parents flown in from Yekaterinburg, city police, and an unexpectedly demanding "Peter the Great."
