Synopsis
The Last Warrior: Emissary of Darkness (2021) is a Russian fantasy-comedy adventure you can watch online on iFILM. It's the third chapter of the hugely popular fairy-tale franchise from director Dmitry Dyachenko, with Viktor Khoriniak and Mila Sivatskaya back in the lead.
The sorcerer Rogoleb is beaten, the magical land of Belogorye is at peace, and Ivan and Vasilisa are busy planning their wedding — bickering over the dress, plain rings or enchanted ones, a honeymoon in a flying mortar or a walking hut. Then it all falls apart. Vasilisa is kidnapped, and the chase flings Ivan and his friends straight into present-day Moscow. To these folk-tale heroes it's a realm of wonders, where people ride strange chariots, talk to flat little tablets and can't tell real magic from a cheap toy.
As it turns out, other characters from the old stories have quietly settled into this modern city too, and with their help Ivan gets a real shot at finishing off the ancient Darkness. The lively cast includes Ekaterina Vilkova, Konstantin Lavronenko and Sergey Burunov. Most of the humor comes from the clash between epic Belogorye and big-city bustle.
