Synopsis
Special Purpose Kelin (2022) is a Kazakhstani comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Askar Bisembin. Asel (Dina Tasbullatova) is a special-service operative whose new assignment sounds straightforward: get close to a drug gang member in Almaty by using her looks rather than a badge. She picks the wrong man entirely.
The guy she approaches turns out to be Erlan (Rustem Zhanyamanov) — a chronically unlucky nobody with zero criminal ties. Flattered by a beautiful stranger's sudden interest, Erlan and his brother make a snap decision: they abduct her and drive her to their village. The family assumes she's the bride. A kelin. A city woman who has only ever seen cows on television is now expected to run a rural household while trying to keep her actual operation alive.
