Synopsis
Necklace (Ozherelye, 2013) is a Russian melodrama by Aleksandr Khvan, available to watch online on iFILM. At its heart is Marina, a professor's daughter whose whole world narrows down to one man.
After her father dies, Marina pours everything she has into the career of Yuri, her married lover, pushing him up the academic ladder. The reward arrives once he becomes dean: to kill the gossip, he keeps her on as nothing more than a lab assistant. It is a quiet study of a woman who gave all and was handed a place in the shadows. Maria Kulikova, Kirill Grebenshchikov and Andrey Sorokin lead the cast.
