In a Violent Nature (2024) is a Canadian slasher you can watch online on iFILM. The trick: the camera trails the killer, not the kids he hunts.

When a group of friends lifts an old locket from a collapsed fire tower, they wake the rotting thing buried beneath it. Johnny rises and walks the forest in silence, retrieving what's his — and anyone in his path is just an obstacle. Director Chris Nash strips out the score, the chase cuts, the usual jump-scare grammar. What's left is footsteps, breathing and long, patient shots of the trees.

This is an acquired taste. The pace is slow and meditative, broken by kills so brutal and inventive that horror fans argued about them all year. If you're sick of by-the-numbers campground hack-and-slash, the inverted angle is a real find; if you want a conventional slasher, it may test your patience.
