Synopsis
The Beast Must Die (2021) is a British crime series you can watch online on iFILM. Frances Cairns loses her six-year-old son in a hit-and-run. The driver disappears. Police close the case. Frances does not.
Cush Jumbo plays Frances, who methodically traces the man she holds responsible — a wealthy figure played by Jared Harris, known from Chernobyl. She works her way into his household, earns the family's trust, and plans a death that needs to look accidental. Harris plays his character with enough ambiguity to keep doubt alive throughout. The series is adapted from a 1938 detective novel by Nicholas Blake — the pen name of the poet Cecil Day-Lewis — and directed by Finnish filmmaker Dome Karukoski.
