America's greatest — and least methodical — special agent has spent over a decade in prison. He gets out to find his old nemesis, Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth, is still at large and planning something catastrophic.
MacGruber reassembles his crew: Vicki (Kristen Wiig) and Dixson (Ryan Phillippe), with Laurence Fishburne, Billy Zane, Maya Rudolph and Sam Elliott filling out an ensemble that commits fully to the bit. His confidence in the mission is total. His actual competence is another matter.
