Synopsis
Life and Amazing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe (1973) is a Soviet adventure film you can watch online on iFILM. It brings Daniel Defoe's famous novel to the screen: a sailor cast up by shipwreck as the lone survivor on a deserted island.
Alone against the sea, Crusoe rebuilds a life from scratch — fire, food, shelter, and a running tally of the days and years. Twenty-eight years of solitude reshape him before any strangers' boats reach the shore. Saving a captive from execution, he gains a companion he names Friday, and the island stops being a prison. Leonid Kuravlyov plays Crusoe, with Irakli Khizanishvili as Friday.
It was directed by Stanislav Govorukhin, later famous for his crime sagas, who shot the Crimean and Caucasian coast convincingly enough to pass for the tropics. A solid family classic for anyone meeting Defoe's story for the first time. Stream Robinson Crusoe (1973) online on iFILM.
