Iwájú (Season 1)

Iwájú (2024) is an animated series you can watch online on iFILM. Set in a future Lagos where gleaming towers rise right next to the slums, it turns Nigeria's biggest city into a place where the gap between rich and poor is measured in tech, not blocks.

The story follows two kids from opposite sides of that gap. Tola lives behind tall gates, the daughter of a wealthy man, with a robot lizard named Otin as her closest companion. Cole comes from the mainland and works just to get by. When their worlds collide, both stumble onto dangerous adult secrets the city would rather keep buried.

Made by the Nigerian studio Kugali together with Disney Animation, the show carries a distinct Yoruba flavor and an Afrofuturist look you rarely see in big-budget cartoons.
