Synopsis
My Own Private Idaho (1991) is Gus Van Sant's road drama you can watch online on iFILM. Mike is a street hustler with narcolepsy who drops into sleep mid-sentence, sometimes flat on the highway. Scott is the mayor's son, slumming it for the thrill of rebellion.
The two sell themselves for cash and drugs, then hit the road — Portland, the empty plains of Idaho, eventually Italy. Mike is chasing a mother he barely remembers. Scott is just waiting on his inheritance, certain he'll walk away from all of it one day. River Phoenix and Keanu Reeves play two young men bound by the road and one ache that never gets spoken aloud.
