Synopsis

In the early 1970s, Black Panther Party co-founder Huey P. Newton is dodging a federal dragnet. His unlikely lifeline is Bert Schneider, a Hollywood producer with cash, connections and a taste for trouble. The scheme borders on the absurd: smuggle Newton to Cuba under cover of a fake film production, where the lights and cameras exist to fool the FBI rather than roll a single usable frame. Lights, camera — and revolution instead of a take.
André Holland plays Newton, Alessandro Nivola plays Schneider, and the ensemble includes Tiffany Boone and Moses Ingram. Don Cheadle directed several episodes, and his fingerprints show in the jittery, wry tone. At heart it's about radical politics and the dream factory briefly sharing a getaway car.
