Synopsis
Ronja the Robber's Daughter (2024) is a Nordic family adventure you can watch online on iFILM, adapted from Astrid Lindgren's beloved novel. Ronja grows up inside a stone fortress among her father's band of robbers.
She fears neither the forest nor the strange creatures living in it. Then she meets Birk — son of Borka, chief of a rival gang that has seized the other half of the castle. A friendship between two children from feuding clans enrages both fathers at once. Mattis (Sverrir Gudnason) has always assumed his daughter stands with him, and treats the mere acquaintance as betrayal. Around them lurk grey dwarfs, harpies and a winter cold enough to kill anyone caught alone.
This Swedish series draws on the same Lindgren tale that Studio Ghibli once turned into anime. The bet here is on real cliffs, real weather and a stubborn heroine rather than digital fairy-tale gloss. It makes a solid family evening with no sugar-coating.
