Synopsis
James May: Our Man in India (2024), Season 3 is a three-part travel documentary you can watch online on iFILM, tracing a coast-to-coast route from the Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal.
It's his biggest trip yet — roughly 3,000 miles across the country. He opens in Mumbai with a top Indian comic and a Bollywood legend, flies kites in Udaipur, then gets swept into the colour riot of Holi. Delhi brings monsoon rain and deep-fried street food, followed by cricket, trains, the Taj Mahal and sacred Varanasi. The last leg climbs into the Himalayas — Buddhism, tea and heavy metal — drops into Kolkata for a Tollywood cameo, and ends on the mangrove islands of the Sundarbans, where the tigers live.

James finds himself in the capital Delhi, where the heavens open and all the street food is fried. Then it's time to tackle some Indian icons: cricket, trains, and the Taj Mahal, before the majestic Varanasi and the mighty River Ganges.

In the Himalayas, James experiences Buddhism, tea, and heavy metal. Then to Kolkata, for his big break in Tollywood. And finally, on the mangrove islands of the Sundarbans, James braves bees and tigers to greet a very special new arrival.
