PGSynopsis
The Beast Must Die (1974) is a British horror-mystery you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Paul Annett. Big-game hunter Tom Newcliffe has bagged nearly every animal alive. One quarry still escapes him — a werewolf.
He gathers eight guests at his estate, wires the grounds with cameras and microphones, and lays out the game: one of them is the beast, and over a few full-moon nights it will give itself away. The guests are played by Peter Cushing, Charles Gray, Anton Diffring and a young Michael Gambon. The film's gimmick is the "Werewolf Break" — moments before the reveal, the action freezes and you're invited to name the monster yourself.
Made by Amicus, the studio behind so many 1970s British horror anthologies, it splices a monster movie with a drawing-room whodunit. A lesser-known charmer for fans of old-school horror with a playful twist. Stream The Beast Must Die (1974) online on iFILM.
