Synopsis
Russian Doll (Matryoshka, 2024) is a Cold War spy drama you can watch online on iFILM. Leningrad, 1983: language student Yulia Morozova trains, studies and has no clue the KGB has already pulled her file.
The reason is uncomfortably simple. Yulia is the spitting image of the late wife of American agent Jim Wheeler, who comes to the city to meet a contact inside a classified research institute. Counterintelligence chief Volokhov sets up an elaborate game: slip Yulia into the American's circle and use her to flush out a mole in the defense sector — betting Wheeler can't look away from a ghost.
Sofya Shutkina plays a young woman forced to grow up in a matter of weeks and learn to lie for a living, with Dmitry Palamarchuk on the other side of the board.
