Synopsis

Young nihilist Yevgeny Bazarov arrives at his friend Arkady's country estate, convinced the older generation is irrelevant and sentiment is weakness. Arkady Kirsanov is torn between his friend's cold certainties and his own father's world. Then love arrives and dismantles everything Bazarov thought he had figured out. Alexander Ustyugov plays Bazarov; Sergei Yursky, Leonid Yarmolnik, Anatoly Vasilyev, and Yekaterina Vilkova bring the older characters to life.
