Season 1
Synopsis
D-Day Sacrifice (2014), Season 1 — watch online on iFILM. Two episodes, French production, assembled entirely from remastered and colourised WWII archive footage, much of it previously unseen.
Episode one covers the landings: the largest invasion fleet in history crosses the Channel and meets German resistance on the Normandy shore. Episode two follows the Allied push inland — slower and bloodier than any pre-invasion plan allowed for. Both episodes interweave first-person testimonies: French civilians, soldiers from both sides, Eisenhower, Rommel, filmmaker Samuel Fuller, and Eisenhower's driver Kay Summersby. There is no triumphant narration. The footage and the voices carry the weight on their own. Stream D-Day Sacrifice Season 1 online on iFILM.
