Synopsis
D-Day Sacrifice (2014) is a documentary series you can watch online on iFILM, assembled from remastered and colorized Second World War archive footage — a significant portion of it previously classified or simply never broadcast. Testimonies come from French civilians, soldiers on both sides, and commanders including Dwight D. Eisenhower, Erwin Rommel, and Bernard Law Montgomery.
The account runs from the months of preparation for Operation Overlord through the liberation of Paris. Voices range from generals to a GI who would go on to direct films — Samuel Fuller landed on Omaha Beach — and Eisenhower's personal driver, Kay Summersby. Six weeks of 1944, told by the people who lived them. Stream D-Day Sacrifice online on iFILM.
