Synopsis
Season 4 of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys is here to watch online on iFILM — twenty-two 1997 episodes where the show loosens its tone and then breaks your heart.
This is the series at its most tonally restless. A lot of it is open comedy: Hercules climbs a beanstalk with Autolycus the thief, gets turned into a pig by the goddess Discord, and in one episode Kevin Sorbo literally vanishes from the production while the writers panic on camera. There's a darker crossover thread with Xena, too — Callisto and the evil Hope travel back in time to murder Hercules' mother and erase him from history. Then the season hardens. Alcmene dies, Zeus invites his son to rule Olympus, and Hercules makes war on the gods themselves to win back his mother's soul.
