Synopsis
A Grand Day Out (1990) is Nick Park's claymation short you can watch online on iFILM. Wallace, a tinkering inventor with a fatal weakness for cheese, has run completely out. So he builds a rocket in the cellar.
The plan is gloriously daft. Everyone knows the moon is made of cheese, so why not pop up there for a slice? Wallace packs crackers and a flask, drags along his patient, silent dog Gromit, and blasts off. Once they land, the pair discover the moon already has a peculiar caretaker who is not pleased to see them. Peter Sallis voices Wallace.
This is the film that started it all for Britain's Aardman studio and the beloved Wallace and Gromit duo, a franchise that would go on to win Oscars for its handmade stop-motion. Twenty-four minutes of dry, cosy British nonsense. Stream A Grand Day Out (1990) online on iFILM.
