gen:LOCK (2019) is an American animated sci-fi series you can watch online on iFILM, produced by Rooster Teeth and voiced by Michael B. Jordan. Set fifty years in the future, it builds its world around a single question: what if you could upload a human mind directly into a combat mech?

An authoritarian force is sweeping the globe. The response is the gen:LOCK program — giant fighting machines piloted not by hands on controls but by consciousness merged with the machine's systems. Julian Chase is one of the handful of people neurologically compatible enough to make the transfer, and the process costs more than any briefing prepared him for.

Gray Haddock directed the series with a voice cast that also includes Dakota Fanning, Maisie Williams, David Tennant, and Koichi Yamadera — unusual company for an animated action show. The sci-fi premise is taken seriously: the series is more interested in identity and what consciousness transfer does to a person than in the mech battles themselves.
