Synopsis

London, 1910: Katharine Hilbery is expected to marry well, mostly because her mother has spent a lifetime guarding the family's literary legacy. What Katharine actually wants is a telescope — astronomy pulls at her far more than any suitor does, and she hides that hunger from everyone.
Her father pushes her toward an engagement she never asked for, while two new acquaintances start pulling her the other way: an unapologetic suffragette and a thoughtful young editor who listens better than her fiancé ever has. Bit by bit, she stops pretending someone else's plan for her life fits.
