About

Synopsis

Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk (2016) is a war drama from Ang Lee you can watch online on iFILM. Billy is nineteen. He survived a firefight in Iraq, and now his country has decided he's a hero.

Cameras caught Bravo Squad mid-battle, so the Army ships the men across America as a recruiting spectacle. The tour ends with a Thanksgiving Day halftime show — fireworks, cheerleaders, blinding lights. Billy (newcomer Joe Alwyn) smiles for the crowd while his mind keeps dragging him back to what really happened. Around him: a sister (Kristen Stewart) begging him not to redeploy, a hardened sergeant (Garrett Hedlund), a fast-talking promoter (Chris Tucker) and a team owner played by Steve Martin.

Adapted from Ben Fountain's novel, the film was shot at a startling 120 frames per second, so every burst of pyrotechnics lands like gunfire. The gap between the parade-ground "thank you for your service" and what these soldiers actually carry is the whole point. Stream Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk (2016) online on iFILM.
