Two Ivanov families from southern Russia have been living their lives for sixteen years, each raising a child they believe is their own. Then a DNA test turns everything upside down: the babies were swapped at the maternity ward, and now the biological parents are strangers. Mikhail Trukhin and Anna Ukolova play the modest, cash-strapped Ivanovs who discover their son has been growing up in a wealthy household — and that their flesh and blood has had every advantage they couldn't afford. The two families circle each other with a mix of resentment, bewilderment, and grudging curiosity.
