Platonic (Seasons 1–2)

Platonic (2023) is an Apple TV+ comedy series you can watch online on iFILM, starring Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen as former best friends who fell out years ago and are now, awkwardly, trying to find their way back. She has a husband, kids and a suburb. He has a struggling bar and a life that still looks suspiciously like his twenties.

When they start hanging out again, neither can locate the brakes. She's skipping family dinners to stay late at his place; he's wading into her marriage disputes and alienating her husband. The friendship gets consuming in ways neither expected — and that's exactly where director Nicholas Stoller finds the comedy. The show doesn't reach for a romantic resolution, which is what makes it feel unusually honest about how these relationships actually work at midlife.
