Synopsis
The Dogs of War (1980) is a British-American action thriller directed by John Irvin — watch online on iFILM. Christopher Walken plays Jamie Shannon, a battle-hardened mercenary recruited by corporate backers to quietly remove the dictator of a tiny African nation called Zangaro.
Months of planning follow: reconnaissance, crew assembly, arms smuggled across borders. Then one night the mission goes loud — Shannon's unit storms the presidential compound and the job is done. Almost. The choice Shannon makes at the end of that night breaks every rule of the mercenary trade, and it is what lifts the film beyond a straight action picture.
