American Dreamer

American Dreamer (2022) is a comedy directed by Paul Dektor — watch it online on iFILM. Peter Dinklage plays Phil Loder, an economics professor with two divorces, a threadbare salary, and an outsized fixation on owning a mansion. When an aging widow named Astrid — played by Shirley MacLaine — offers him her sprawling estate for almost nothing, Phil thinks his smartest move has finally paid off.

It hasn't. Astrid turns out to be several steps ahead of the self-satisfied professor, and his supposedly airtight plan springs leaks at every turn.
