Synopsis

Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), Season 1 — 25 episodes of science fiction you can watch online on iFILM. Eighty years after Kirk's era, Starfleet launches a new Enterprise — NCC-1701-D — under Captain Jean-Luc Picard, with a crew drawn from across the Federation and beyond.

The opening mission drops them straight into a confrontation with Q, an omnipotent being who puts humanity on trial. That encounter sets the tone: a season of first contacts, moral dilemmas, and the occasional shock. The Ferengi make their debut as an adversary. Data searches for darker chapters of his own history. The crew absorbs its first real loss. By the finale, the Romulans — silent for fifty years — resurface near the Neutral Zone, and nothing about that silence feels accidental.

Season 1 is uneven in the way pilot seasons often are, writers still finding their footing episode by episode. It is also where every great story this show would tell begins. Stream Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 1 online on iFILM.
