Commander John Koenig, played by Martin Landau, runs the base alongside Dr. Helena Russell (Barbara Bain) and science chief Victor Bergman. Going home is off the table. Every drifting world and every alien craft Alpha crosses becomes a fresh problem with no rulebook, and the crew has to improvise survival against things no human has ever met.

The show came from British-Italian producers Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, the team behind Thunderbirds, and it leans hard on physical model work, real spacesuits and a moody, un-shiny take on the future.
