TV-14Season 1
Some guests never leave!
Synopsis
The Shining (1997) is Stephen King's own miniseries adaptation — three parts you can watch online on iFILM. Struggling writer Jack Torrance signs on as winter caretaker of the remote Overlook Hotel and brings his wife Wendy and their six-year-old son Danny, a boy who carries a gift called the shining.
Then the snow seals them in. The empty hotel only looks quiet. Danny starts to see what its hundred locked rooms are hiding, and Jack, the deeper he digs into the Overlook's bloody history, slips further from himself. Room 217, the topiary animals that move when no one watches, voices that know exactly where he's weak — the place works on his oldest wound and turns a father into the thing his family should fear most. Danny's only hope is to reach a mind far away that can still hear him.
Unlike Kubrick's film, this three-night version was written by King to track the novel closely: less icy style, more family tragedy. Steven Weber plays Jack, Rebecca De Mornay plays Wendy. Stream The Shining (1997) online on iFILM.
