Synopsis
Losing Isaiah (1995) is an American drama you can watch online on iFILM. High on crack, single mother Khaila leaves her baby beside a dumpster, then comes back the next morning in a panic to find him gone. The infant survives, rescued and taken in by another family.
Years pass. Khaila gets clean, holds down a job, and learns the truth — her son is alive, adopted by social worker Margaret and her husband. What follows is a custody fight in which both mothers are right. Halle Berry plays the woman trying to reclaim the child she abandoned; Jessica Lange is the one who nursed a stranger's baby into her own. Director Stephen Gyllenhaal refuses to pick a side or milk the tears, leaving an uncomfortable question about blood, race and who gets to be called a parent. David Strathairn, Samuel L.
