Synopsis

Kate (Emilia Clarke) works as an elf in a Christmas shop that stays open all year in central London. She once wanted to sing for a living. Now she drinks too much, clashes with her mother, an immigrant from the former Yugoslavia, and crashes on whatever sofa will have her. A recent heart operation left her drifting and bitter. Things start to shift when Tom (Henry Golding) keeps turning up outside the shop, a slightly odd guy who looks up at the birds and gets Kate to do the same.
