Synopsis
The Crown Season 3 (2019) — watch all 10 episodes online on iFILM, now set in the 1960s and '70s with a new cast: Olivia Colman takes over as Elizabeth, Tobias Menzies as Philip, Helena Bonham Carter as Margaret.
Harold Wilson arrives at Downing Street and the Palace receives him with barely concealed suspicion. A coal tip collapses onto a primary school in Aberfan, killing 116 children; Elizabeth's slow response to visit becomes the season's moral reckoning. Charles is sent to Wales to learn the language ahead of his investiture as Prince of Wales — where he finds himself unexpectedly sympathetic to the nationalists — and falls for Camilla Shand against everyone's wishes. Philip watches the moon landing and feels the specific smallness of a life he never chose. Margaret's marriage to Lord Snowdon comes apart quietly, then all at once.
The Aberfan episode is the one that stays with you: forty minutes of near-silence that hit harder than most disaster films. Stream The Crown Season 3 online on iFILM.
