Synopsis

The Voice (2011), Season 1 is the NBC singing competition you can watch online on iFILM — thirteen episodes, and the very first run of the blind-audition format that later spread to dozens of countries.

The rule is blunt. A coach faces away from the stage and turns a chair for the voice alone, never the look. This season puts Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in those chairs. Each builds a team, then sets their own singers against one another in head-to-head battles. After that come the quarter-finals, the semi-final and the live results shows, where America picks who walks away with the title, a hundred thousand dollars and a record deal.

There are no knockout rounds or chair steals yet — the show is still feeling out its own machinery, which makes the debut season play like an experiment finding its footing. Stream The Voice Season 1 online on iFILM.
