Along the way she takes in three orphaned children and grows close to Sully (Joe Lando), a quiet frontiersman who lives between two worlds. Around them: the Cheyenne, preachers, shopkeepers, and the hard prejudices of the 1860s border.

It ran six seasons on CBS, and Jane Seymour took home a Golden Globe for the lead. This is a family Western that cares more about medicine, tolerance, and a woman's place in the Old West than about shootouts. A good pick if you like warm period series with a backbone.
