Synopsis
All the Light We Cannot See (2023), Season 1 is a Netflix WWII drama you can watch online on iFILM — four episodes adapted from Anthony Doerr's novel. The season binds two strangers to one doomed seaside town.
It's August 1944, and Nazi-held Saint-Malo is taking American shells. Marie, a blind French girl, keeps broadcasting on shortwave even though the act carries a death sentence — and a young German soldier, Werner, is the one tuning in. Interrogations and flashbacks fill in how each of them arrived: the fall of Paris, an orphanage, a hidden diamond called the Sea of Flames, and the SS officer von Rumpel hunting it. By the final episode the artillery is failing, the Allies break through, and Werner has to choose a side.
Shawn Levy directed, with Steven Knight writing; newcomer Aria Mia Loberti plays Marie alongside Louis Hofmann, Hugh Laurie and Mark Ruffalo. A four-night, chamber-sized story — its strength is the voice in the dark, not the scale. Stream All the Light We Cannot See Season 1 online on iFILM.
