Iron Eagle

Iron Eagle (1986) is a US-Canadian action film directed by Sidney J. Furie — watch it online on iFILM, starring Louis Gossett Jr. and Jason Gedrick. When Air Force pilot Ted Masters is shot down over a hostile Middle Eastern state, the government refuses to act. His teenage son Doug decides that waiting is not an option.

Doug has one unusual advantage: he can fly a fighter jet. He teams up with Colonel Chappy (Gossett), a veteran who sees something reckless and real in the kid. Together they plan an unsanctioned two-plane raid — steal the jets, run the air defenses, and bring Ted home. The film keeps the throttle open; there is very little downtime between cockpit sequences.

Released the same year as Top Gun's cultural wave, Iron Eagle carved out its own following on sheer momentum and Gossett's grounded performance alongside Gedrick's wide-eyed conviction. The franchise ran to three sequels. Stream Iron Eagle (1986) online on iFILM.
