Synopsis
Harry Brown (2009) is the British crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM, with Michael Caine as a widowed pensioner pushed past his breaking point. A retired Royal Marine loses the last person he's close to and decides to settle the score himself.
Harry lives out his days on a grim London estate where a pack of young thugs has claimed the underpass and rules the block through fear. After his wife dies, his only friend left is Leo. When the local kids beat Leo to death and the police come up empty, Harry reaches back for skills he thought he'd buried for good. A quiet old man wheezing through emphysema starts hunting the ones terrorizing his neighbors, one by one.
Director Daniel Barber made a hard, unsentimental film about the failure of the law and what a man becomes when he has nothing left to protect. Caine doesn't play an action-hero avenger; he plays a tired, sick old man, which makes the violence land all the heavier. Emily Mortimer and Liam Cunningham round out the cast.
