Synopsis

Set up for a murder he didn't commit, Jian goes on the run with the whole city after him and the evidence stacked against him. His only ally is a prostitute played by Bridget Fonda, trapped under the thumb of the same crooked inspector — Tcheky Karyo — who framed him. Jian fights with almost no words, bare hands, and an acupuncture needle that can kill on contact.
Luc Besson wrote and produced it, Corey Yuen choreographed the fights, and Chris Nahon made his directing debut. This is one of Jet Li's harshest Hollywood vehicles: no wires, no digital cheats, just clean brutal choreography. If you want lean, no-filler early-2000s action, this one delivers.
