Synopsis
Don't Make Me Go (2022) is a road-trip drama from director Hannah Marks, available to watch online on iFILM. Max, played by John Cho, learns he is terminally ill and decides not to tell his teenage daughter. Instead of confessing, he talks her into a long drive across the country, from California to New Orleans for his college reunion.
On the road, Max and sixteen-year-old Wally — newcomer Mia Isaac — argue, make up, and slowly teach each other how to drive and how to be honest. He is carrying a secret plan: at that reunion, he hopes to reconnect her with the mother who walked out on them years ago. Every gas-station stop pushes Wally closer to a truth he can't bring himself to say.
This small two-hander lives entirely on the chemistry between Cho and Isaac, on their bickering and the long silences inside the car. The ending is blunt and divisive, the kind people keep arguing about afterward. A quiet pick for anyone who loves father-and-daughter stories told without melodrama.
