Twin Star Exorcists (Season 1)

Twin Star Exorcists (双星の陰陽師, 2016) is a Japanese anime series you can watch online on iFILM. Somewhere alongside the real world sits Magano — a corrupted realm teeming with creatures called Kegare that cross over and attack humans. Exorcists called Onmyoji have kept the boundary for generations. Rokuro Enmado was born into their ranks and wants nothing to do with it; something in his past broke that ambition for good.

Then Benio Adashino shows up — sharp, relentless, and good enough to make Rokuro's competitive instincts flare back to life. Before their rivalry can settle into anything comfortable, the chief exorcist drops a prophecy on them both: they are the Twin Stars, destined to marry and eventually produce a child powerful enough to wipe out the Kegare entirely. Neither of them takes that particularly well.

Produced by Pierrot — the studio behind Naruto and Bleach — the series pushes shonen action and awkward teenage comedy without much subtlety, though the creature designs and Japanese onmyodo mythology give it a distinctive flavor.
