Warlock (1989) — watch online on iFILM this US horror-fantasy directed by Steve Miner, built around one of the genre's more memorable villain performances: Julian Sands plays a seventeenth-century warlock who escapes execution when Satan yanks him into 1988 Los Angeles.

His goal once he lands in the present is to reassemble three scattered sections of the Grand Grimoire — a forbidden text that, read backwards, would undo Creation itself. Hot on his trail is witch hunter Giles Redferne (Richard E. Grant), dragged three centuries forward and completely lost in modern America. A young woman named Cassandra (Lori Singer), accidentally marked by the warlock, ends up as his unlikely partner in the chase.

Sands plays the warlock with an icy detachment that makes him more unsettling than any amount of theatrical menace. For a low-budget genre picture, the time-travel hook gives it a different texture from the typical slasher fare of its era. Stream Warlock (1989) online on iFILM.
